Kenyon College’s Historic Buildings

The new technologies of 3-D modeling and printing are enhancing research into the historic design and construction of Kenyon College’s 19th and early 20th century buildings. Starting from blueprints found in Kenyon’s Greenslade Archives, then taking on-site measurements, using survey reports, and photography, students have used 3D modeling software, such as SketchUp and Blender, to recreate the exterior and interiors of buildings. Completed projects include those by Rosa Rumora (’19) for Bexley Hall and Amelia Mott (’21) for Old Kenyon.
